Mission District:
Delfina Pizzeria (small, usually a wait but worth it if you like Italian style pizza)
Little Star Pizza - also in western addition (deep dish, chicago style pizza but even better than what you get in Chicago)
Weird Fish (all sustainable seafood and vegetarian type food. Really small and funky. Supposed to have a really good brunch=
Russian Hill:
Za Pizza (small, cheap, loud pizza and beer place, very laid back)
Marina:
Betelnut (asian fusion, sooo good, usually crowded)
Atami Sushi (small, mellow place on Lombard Street, great sushi and noodle bowls)
North Beach:
Ideale (really good italian, owner is off the boat roman)
Tenderloin:
Lahore Karahi (a dive but really good indian/pakistani food)
DAY TRIPS
*Berkeley
*Marin: back to Tiburon, and everything here - all GREAT day trips
*Russian River (could also be a great weekend trip. Guerneville is the town I told you about - pretty funky, on the river. Tomales Bay for coastside and eating oysers)
*Santa Cruz (could also be a great weekend trip) - beaches and the little town of Capitola just south of Santa Cruz
WEEKEND TRIPS
*Big Sur
-Andrew Molera State Park - see the Big Sur river enter the ocean
-Pfeiffer State Park - hike to the gorge and spend the day swimming in the freezing water
-McWay Falls - beautiful waterfall
-Plenty of other hikes and tucked away beaches (careful though, the surf is dangerous)
*Santa Barbara (3 day weekend would be better - 5 hours to get there driving. If you go, let me know and Ill give you really good suggestions. this is where i went to school)
*Mendocino (beautiful coastal town, return via Andersen Valley for little wineries and a good brewery or 2)
